Desari's Enchanted Love Stories

 Legacy's Forbidden Love part forty-five

Elizabeth wasn’t in her room as her parents believed. She was climbing into the hayloft in the barn with one of the young ranch hands. She watched as the cute ranch hand spread out a blanket for her on the hay. She was busy stripping her top and bra off. She approached him bare from the waist up. The cowboy grinned pulling his shirt over his head. She wrapped her arms around his neck, rubbing her bare breast against his naked chest. She kissed him hungrily. She unfastened his jeans, pushing them down his legs. She pulled his jockey shorts down next, taking his hard penis into her eager mouth. The cowboy groaned his body jerking as her mouth expertly sucked his cock. Pulling her away he pushed her down on the blanket roughly. His mouth captured a hard nipple. While his hands pushed her mini skirt up over her hips. She wasn’t wearing any panties he thought groaning. His fingers slipped into her. He fingered her as he continued to suck at her breasts. Elizabeth moaned in delight. Growing impatient she pushed him onto his back, straddling him. She guided his hard cock into her. She rode him hard. She showed no mercy. Finally she cried out at from the force of her climax. She could feel him cumming inside of her as well. She rolled off of him panting.

“Well, if this isn’t a sight.” Will said moving out of the shadows. One of the boys had seen Billy coming up to the loft with Elizabeth Harrington. He had informed Will, who had decided to check it out. He had stood in the shadows watching them fuck like animals. He would have to fire the boy. He was a good Hand; he hated to lose him. The stupid little slut! Will had never liked her, she was trouble. This was the second man he’d had to fire because of her. Well he was done with losing good men to her. He would inform her father this time.
“Will!” Billy said grabbing his jeans in disbelief. He was screwed and knew it.
“Billy, pack your things and get off the place.” Will ordered angrily.
“It weren’t my idea.” Billy argued lamely.
“I don’t doubt that! But you know the rules.” Will pointed out.
“I’m sorry.” Billy said feeling like a fool. He glanced at Elizabeth who had grabbed the blanket to cover herself. She didn’t look at him, she was staring at Will.
“Get up.” Will ordered her. When she refused he grabbed her arm pulling her to her feet.
“Let go of me!” Elizabeth cried in surprise. “Where are you taking me?”
“Up too the house. You can explain your behavior to your father.” Will told her dragging her over to the ladder.
“No.” Elizabeth told him in alarm. Her father would kill her.
“Yes, now get down that ladder.” Will said giving her an angry nudge.

“You better keep your mouth shut about this Will! Or I’ll make you pay!” She yelled at him climbing down the ladder.

But Will ignored her. He dragged her kicking and screaming toward the house. He didn’t even allow her to get dressed. She kept the blanket wrapped around her all the while yelling at him to let her go. Security met them outside the house.
“What’s going on here?” Dino demanded looking at them.
“I need to speak with John about his daughter!” Will answered keeping a tight grip on Elizabeth’s arm.
Dino nodded his head, turning to lead the way into the house. John was going to blow his fuse. Clearly the girl had been caught doing it with someone. How had she gotten out of the house? She was supposed to be locked up in her room.

The Harrington’s had just finished dinner when Dino entered the room with Will and Elizabeth in tow.
“What the hell?” John asked taking in his daughter’s lack of clothing.
“I found her in the loft with one of my men.” Will told John.
“What?” John asked his face darkening.
“I guess I don’t have to tell you what I caught them doing?” Will answered with regret.

“What were you doing in the barn? You’re supposed to be in your room. You’re grounded!” Jessica said in disbelief, her eyes moving over her daughter. She was clearly naked under the blanket.
“Who was it?” John demanded rising from his chair angrily.
“His name’s Billy Walker. He’s a good kid. I’ve never had any problem with him.” Will answered finally letting go of Elizabeth.
“How old is he?” Jessica asked horrified by her daughter’s shameful actions.
“He’s only eighteen, just a kid.” Will told them.
“Did you fire him?” John asked
“Yes, he’s getting his things as we speak.” Will replied.
“What a waste.” Edward muttered staring at his granddaughter in disgust. “Thank you for bringing this to our attention.”
“This isn’t the first time.” Will replied. “This is the second man I’ve had to fire over her.”
“What?” John and Jessica asked staring at their daughter in horror.
“Maybe you should ground her again it seems to be working.” Edward told them sarcastically. “You can go Will. I’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again.” Edward assured him.
“Goodnight than, Trey if I could have a word with you.” Will said gesturing to Trey. He walked out into the hall, waiting for Trey to join him.
“What is it Will?” Trey asked joining him.
“I need to talk to you about Kristen?” Will answered.

“Why?” Trey asked.
“She pulled a stupid stunt today. Could have gotten herself killed.” Will answered shaking his head.
“What did she do?” Trey asked with a sigh.
“She got in Terminator’s pen.” Will replied.
“What?” Trey asked in surprise. “Why in the hell would she do something like that?” Did she have a death wish he wondered?
“I don’t think she saw him when she climbed into his paddock. She was interested in the horses on the other side of his paddock.” Will answered him.
“Did he put her over the fence?” Trey asked picturing her diving over a fence.
“No, that’s the strange part.” Will answered still shaking his head over what he had witnessed.
“What happened?”
“He walked right up to her, and let her pet and scratch him.”
“What? Terminator??”
“Yeah, I’m never seen anything like it.”
“Christ, she could have been killed.” Trey muttered.
“I told her to stay out of his pen, but I don’t think she’ll listen. Maybe she’ll listen to you.” Will told him.’
“I’ll talk to her.” Trey said feeling weary.
“Good, I’ll see you in the morning.” Will said turning to leave. He hoped to hell that John would be able to gain control of his daughter.
“Gus would you mind waiting in the parlor?” John asked his friend.
“Sure, I’ll just help myself to your whiskey.” Gus said he was more than happy to get out of the room.
Edward waited until Gus had left the dinning room before turning on his granddaughter. “Well, what do you have to say for yourself young lady?”
“Dad, stay out of this. Jessica and I can handle our own daughter.” John warned quietly.
“Really, because from where I’m standing you, haven’t done a very, good job. Your daughter is a whore!” Edward replied angrily.
“I am not.” Elizabeth shouted.
“Really, you seem to spread your legs to anyone.”
“Dammit Dad!” John yelled.
“So? I like sex, what’s the big deal.” Elizabeth asked.
“You’re a Harrington!” Edward thundered.
“If I’m a whore, than so is Trey. He’s slept with a lot more people than me.” Elizabeth pointed out.
Trey frowned entering the room. He was glad Kristen wasn’t present to hear his sister’s comment. “Leave me out of this.”
“Were talking about you. What man is going to want a woman who’s been rode more often than a brood mare.” Edward said.

“I’ll bet Mom wasn’t a virgin when she got married.” Elizabeth pointed out.
“No, she wasn’t.” Edward said shaking his head.
“What? How do you know.” Jessica asked coming out of her trance.
“You spent the night in a shabby hotel on your second date with John. I have to say I was impressed. You at least kept your pants on until the second date.” Edward answered calmly.
“John, how could you?” Jessica asked turning red.
“What? I didn’t tell him.” John assured her.
“Your mother was a virgin until my son got a hold of her, and she married him. So she was no slut.” Edward went on ignoring them.
“How do you know I was a virgin?” Jessica asked glaring at her husband.
“I had you investigated. You were known as the ice queen.”
“You bastard!” Jessica said angrily.
“That’s enough Dad.” John told him getting in his face.
“What are you going to do? Pull a gun on me like Trey.”
“Don’t tempt me.” John stated.
“Trey pulled a gun on you?” Jessica asked in astonishment. “Did you know about this?”
“He was there, didn’t do a damn thing about it. I think he would have let him shoot me.” Edward muttered before John could respond to her question.
“He had Kristen taken off the ranch this morning.” Trey explained to his mother.

“And you think that justified pulling a gun on your Grandpa. And you just stood by?” Jessica asked her husband.
“Jess, you had to be there. It’s not as bad as its sounds.” John assured her.
“Were getting off topic here. We were discussing Elizabeth.” Edward told them.
“Actually we were discussing how Mom lost her virginity.” Elizabeth pointed out.
“Who else did you brag about it too?” Jessica demanded at her daughter’s reminder.
“What? No one!” John answered shaking his head. “I don’t know how he knows about it.”
“Hotel registry you idiot! You used your own name.” Edward told him. “This isn’t about your mother, this is about you.”
“I like sex, so what? It’s my body. I can’t help it if I’m not sexually repressed like my mother.” Elizabeth said in disgust.
“I am not sexually repressed young lady. I waited for the right man.” Jessica replied recovering herself.
“Yeah, you waited for a rich man.” Elizabeth said with a snort.
“That’s enough! You’ll show your mother respect.” John shouted angrily.
“It’s true! Everyone knows she married you for your money. Just like the little tramp that’s trying to marry Trey for his money.” Elizabeth told him. “Tell them Grandpa.”

“Go to your room Elizabeth.” John said to angry to deal with her. He felt like wringing her neck.
“Fine!” Elizabeth said relieved to be getting away from them.
“Were not finished with this young lady.” John warned her. With a shrug Elizabeth headed up to her room.
“Now maybe you’ll listen to me about sending Elizabeth to that reformatory school.” Edward told them.
“It’s a prison!” Jessica said cringing.
“It’s exactly what she needs. She’s out of control!” Edward replied. “Sleeping with the help wait until that gets out. Will have another scandal on our hands!”
“The boy won’t talk about it. He signed an agreement to keep his mouth shut when he was hired.” John replied.
“You think that will stop him from bragging to friends. Grow up!” Edward said with a shallow laugh.
. “Will worry about that if and when it happens. Right now I’m more worried about the scandal Trey is going to cause once his engagement is announced.” John said wearily.
“It’s going to be a damn mess when the reporter’s get a hold of this.” Edward commented.
“Especially when it’s comes out she’s pregnant.” Jessica put in.
“We need to get them married and quick.” Edward told them.
“I don’t know that there is going to be a wedding.” Jessica said with a sigh.
“What do you mean?” Trey asked with a frown.
“Kristen’s Dad is really upset. He has vowed to stop his daughter from marrying; he feels she’s too young.” Jessica answered with worry. “Which is why it would be best to cancel your little camping trip?”
“She doesn’t need his consent. Her mother has custody of her.” Edward answered with a shrug.
“Her Dad is motioning the courts to grant him legal custody of her. If his motion is granted, he plans to demand that Kristen is turned over to him immediately.” Jessica told him.
“How do you know this?” Edward demanded.
“I spoke to her Dad today; I’ve been trying to reason with him.” Jessica replied.
“Does he know she’s pregnant?” John asked.
“Yes.”
“Will have to buy him off as well.” Trey said with a shrug.
“I don’t think that will work.” Jessica told him shaking her head in disgust.
“It worked with her mother.” Trey said.
“Because she’s a cold blooded bitch that cares nothing for her daughter! Her father seems to love her a whole lot.”
“Everyone has their price.” Edward said confidently.

“I would never sell any of my children.” Jessica retorted angrily.
“If he loves her, he’ll want to do what’s best for her.” Edward commented thinking. “Marrying Trey is in her best interest.”
“He doesn’t think so.” Jessica said. “It doesn’t help that were holding Kristen. It would have been better if she had gone with her Grandma.”
“I’ll take care of it.” Edward said.
“How?” Jessica asked feeling wary at the look in his eyes.
“You just take care of the wedding details, I’ll handle the rest.”
“Are we canceling the trip?” Trey asked Edward.
“No, we leave first thing tomorrow.” Edward answered shaking his head.
“What about her Dad? What if he shows up to demand her return?” Jessica asked.
“He won’t. I’ll send someone to deal with him.” Edward told her.
“How?” Jessica demanded of him.
“Trey, go upstairs and make sure that Kristen gets the rest she needs for tomorrow’s ride.” Edward told him.
“What about her Dad?” Trey asked.
“That’s simple. He either, takes our money, and allows his daughter to marry Trey. Or we take the baby away from her as soon as it’s born.” Edward replied coldly.
“That would destroy her.” Trey said with a frown. John and Jessica stared at Edward appalled.

 Legacy's Forbidden Love part forty-five

Trey took Kristen to the mall in Billings to shop after lunch. She was mortified to find herself in a lingerie store with him. She couldn’t pick out undergarments with him along. She was so embarrassed. But as it turned out she didn’t need to pick anything out. She was measured by one of the store clerks. After which Trey made numerous selections. His knowledge of women’s undergarments was amazing. He knew more about it than she did. By the time he was finished there was a huge pile of undergarments on the counter. I don’t need all of this she thought in amazement. Hadn’t Trey ever heard of a washing machine? There had to be a least two months worth of panties and bras. He had also purchased a corset in every shade, nylons, garters, nightgowns, and robes. Kristen waited as they run up the huge pile of stuff. The total when they finally finished was over five thousand dollars. Trey wasn’t the least bit fazed. He just handed them his card, signed the receipt and instructed the clerks to take the items out to his car. She couldn’t believe he’d just spent five thousand dollars on undergarments. “This should hold you over until we can get to New York.” Trey told her leading her from the store. Kristen was too numb to reply. They walked out to the car surrounded by Trey’s security guards. “The boy’s are going to drop me off at the office and than they’ll take you back to the ranch. We’re having an engagement picture taken tonight. My Grandpa said he had a gown delivered to your room for the picture.” Trey told her as they rode through town toward his office. Kristen just nodded her understanding. This was all very overwhelming. She wished her Grandma would hurry back.
It was a little after two when Kristen arrived at the ranch. She went up too her room to change out of her clothes. Dressed in a pair of jeans and T-shirt she decided to go for a walk. She walked down to the barn and stables. So lost was she in her own thoughts, she didn’t notice the guards that followed her. They kept their distance, not wanting to alarm her. Kristen walked past the barns and stables toward several paddocks. She could see some horses grazing in a paddock in the distance. Climbing up on the fence of an empty paddock she hopped over it. She would walk across the empty paddock toward the horses. She walked across the paddock, not paying any attention to what was around her. She never saw the huge bull get up. He had been laying down at the end of the paddock in the shade. Catching her scent the huge bull rose to his feet. He was a two thousand- pound, Hereford bull, in the prime, of his life. He ran toward her, his name was Terminator. And for good reason, he was dangerous. He had put every man on the ranch over a fence at least once. He had injured several men in the past, including Will. But as he ran toward Kristen, she didn’t run from him. She just continued to walk across his paddock. When he was several feet away he stopped. He kicked at the dirt, and snorted lowering his head. She, ignored him, she didn’t even stop. She was looking out into the distance. Her scent was different from the men. And the bull sensed no fear, he wasn’t used to that. He started to walk toward her coming up from behind her. Until he was close enough to give her butt a nudge with his head.
With a start Kristen turned to see the biggest bull she had ever seen standing right behind her. She didn’t feel any fear at the sight of him. If he had been dangerous she would already be dead. The bull was most likely tame. She reached out her hand to rub his massive head gently. She loved cows, especially bulls. He was so tall that the top of her head was level with his powerful shoulders. “You’re beautiful!” Kristen exclaimed rubbing her hands over his side and shoulders. She had never seen another bull that could equal this one. She stood there petting and talking to him for a while.
All hell broke loose as soon as Kristen hopped into Terminator’s pen. The guards knew better than to follow her in there. A guard ran to get Will, hoping the old man would be able to save the stupid girl! The other guard watched in horror as the huge bull trotted toward her. Doesn’t she see him he wondered when the girl didn’t run! She just kept on walking. He had pulled his handgun and aimed it at the bull. But he knew the gun wouldn’t stop the huge bull. It would just piss the bull off further. Will came running with a rifle in his hands. But by the time he was in place the bull was too close to her to shoot. If the bull lunged after being hit he would fall onto her crushing her for sure. There was nothing he could do he thought wildly. Putting men over the fence and into the paddock would get the bull’s attention. But it would aggravate him to the extent that he might charge her first. He watched in terror as the old bull walked up behind her and nudged her with his head. He didn’t knock her to the ground just gave her a nudge. He watched her turn to see the huge bull behind her. Most would have screamed, but she didn’t. She reached out to pet the old bull. And the old bull just stood there letting her pet him. In the next moment the girl had her arms around the big bull giving him a hug. I must be dreaming, Will thought to himself.

Kristen glanced at her watch; she needed to get back inside. She had to get ready for the picture they would be taking of them. Giving the bull a final pat she walked back toward the fence. She was surprised to see at least a dozen men waiting for her on the other side of the fence. She wondered what they were doing. The bull followed a long behind her, until she got to the fence. She climbed over it. Will didn’t start to breathe until she was safely over the fence. Kristen smiled at him as she walked toward where he was leaning against the fence.
“What the hell did you thing you were doing in there?” He shouted stepping away from the fence.
“What?” Kristen asked in surprise.
“You could have been killed, do realize how dangerous that bull is?” Will told her, his heart was still pounding from the scare she had given him.
“He’s friendly.” Kristen told him.
“He’s not friendly! He’s put every man on this place over a fence at least once. He’s injured several men, including me.” Will told her trying to calm down.
“He’s a nice bull, he let me pet him.” Kristen said defending the old bull.
“His name is Terminator, and for a very good reason. You stay the hell out of his pen.” Will yelled.

“Okay.” Kristen replied hoping to calm him down. He was awful red in the face. She turned to walk toward the house.
“Get back to work.” Will ordered the men who were still standing around. He stormed back to his office.

Upon entering her room Kristen discovered a beautiful midnight blue gown draped over the end of her bed. The gown was floor length with short sleeves that were puffed. Beside the dress was a box containing a diamond and sapphire necklace? The sapphire was the same shade as the gown. There was a set of matching earrings and a bracelet. Kristen had never seen anything so beautiful. Going into the bathroom she stripped out of her clothes, and stepped into the shower. When she was done she put on a terry cloth robe and walked into the bedroom where she was startled to discover several people waiting for her. A maid waited to help her dress, and a hairstylist was there to do her hair. As well as a make up artist. It was embarrassing having someone help her dress, but Kristen reluctantly allowed the maid to help her. She than sat in a chair while the hairdresser styled her hair. None of them asked her what she wanted. They had received their instructions from Edward Harrington.
Kristen made her way slowly down the grand staircase. She could see people milling about in the entryway. Technicians were working on setting up lighting for the photo shoot. The picture would be taken on the grand stair case. Trey looked up to see Kristen coming down the staircase. God, she’s beautiful he thought swallowing hard. She was wearing her hair up, which bared her neck. Sapphire and diamond earrings dangled from her ears. The gown dipped low over her breasts. A large diamond and sapphire necklace graced her neck. The gown fell to the floor concealing her feet, So that she had to pick up the hem as she made her way down the stairs. A matching bracelet adorned her left wrist. Trey wondered where the gown and jewelry had come from. His mother must have loaned her the jewelry; he didn’t recognize the dress either. He moved to take her hand as she reached the base of the stairs. “You’re beautiful.” Trey commented bowing to kiss her hand lightly.
Kristen blushed at his attention. She thought Trey must be the most handsome man alive. He was dressed in a black tuxedo that set off his tanned face. Kristen felt a shiver of desire course through her body at the way his eyes devoured her. Taking her hand in his Trey led her to the photographer. Who exclaimed over her beauty, which caused Kristen to blush even more. The next hour flew by as they took picture after picture, until Edward was finally satisfied with one of the shots. Kristen was exhausted by the time they finished. And so when the family headed toward the dining room Kristen pulled Trey aside.
“I’m going to go back to my room, I’m tired.” She told him quietly.
“What about dinner? You should eat something.” He told her with a frown.
“I’m really too tired for dinner.” Kristen answered with a shrug.
“I’ll have Arthur bring something up to you. You need to eat.” Trey told her firmly. “Do you want me to escort you up to your room?”

“No, you go ahead. I know my way.” She said quickly. She was so tired she just wanted to crawl into her bed. She made her way up the stairs slowly. She couldn’t remember where the elevator was. It seemed to take her forever to reach her room. She shed her gown pulling on a nightgown and robe. She answered a knock on the door, a waiter waited on the other side with a tray of food, which he brought in. He set everything up on table near the kitchen. Pulling out a chair for her, he seated her before lifting the lid, covering her plate. Steak and potatoes greeted her. She was getting sick of eating steaks. She preferred seafood. But she dutifully ate the food. She was embarrassed by the fact that the waiter waited in her room for her to finish. She would have preferred to eat alone. But she didn’t want to be rude. And she knew the waiter was no doubt following Trey’s orders. When she was finished and the waiter had left, she wandered upstairs to her bed. She crawled into the bed with a weary sigh. She was asleep almost before her head had hit the pillow.

Downstairs Trey joined his family at the table. “Where’s Kristen?” Edward asked the boy when he was seated.
“She was tired, she’s going to eat in her room and than get some sleep.” Trey answered.
“Sorry I’m late, I got hung up. What did I miss?” Gus said when he strolled into the room.
“Gus.” John said in surprise. “I didn’t know you were stopping by. When did you get back from Texas?”

“Sorry, I forgot to tell you I invited Gus for dinner.” Trey said as Gus took a seat in the spot that had been set for Kristen.

“It’s good to see you Gus. We’ve missed you.” Jessica said with a smile.
“Where did you run into Trey?” John asked.
“In the ladies room at the club.” Gus said with a grin.
“The ladies room at the Club. What were you doing in the ladies room?” John asked in exasperation.
“He was administering first aid to a young lady.” Gus told John.
“Trey Harrington!” Jessica said with a frown, well aware of her son’s reputation with women.
“I was helping Kristen.” Trey told her.
“In the bathroom. For God’s sake Trey, I’m a member of that club.” Jessica told him shaking her head.
“Hey Gus was in there too.” Trey pointed out.
“I like to hang out in the ladies room. It’s much nicer than the men’s room. I’m going to point that out at the next club meeting.” Gus said cutting his steak. “Been a long time since I was involved in a threesome.”
“Kristen got sick. We were helping her.” Trey told his mother.
“Food didn’t agree with her I guess.” Gus commented as he gazed up the table toward John to gauge his reaction.
“Did anyone else see you in there?” John asked not missing the questioning look in Gus’s eyes.
“Edna Maynard came in while we were in there. She threw us out.” Trey answered with a shrug.
“So Trey, I take it Kristen’s your latest girlfriend?” Gus asked unable to hide his curiosity about the girl.
“She’s my fiancée.” Trey said glancing toward his Dad.
“You’re getting married.” Gus said in surprise. He couldn’t believe Trey was going to settle down. The girl was definitely pregnant!
“Yes, you seemed surprised?” Trey commented.
“I am. I never thought you’d settle down.” Gus answered shaking his head in wonder.
“This is my second night home.” Edward said in an attempt to change the subject. He didn’t like Gus nosing around in family business. “Where are Elizabeth and Tyler?” Edward asked in annoyance.
“Tyler is still with friends, and Elizabeth is confined to her room.” John answered him.
“Why?” Edward asked him.
“She’s grounded.” John answered with a deep frown.
“Got kicked out of another school?” Edward asked with a frown.
“Yes.” John said with a sigh.
“That girl’s nothing but trouble.” Edward commented shaking his head.

“So Trey where did you meet Kristen? I don’t recall ever meeting her.” Gus asked determined to get some answers.
“California.” Trey replied. It was going to be a long night.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my fellow bloggers. I wish I could say that this has been a great day. But it hasn't turned out that way for me. Instead I lost my job today over something I didn't even do. I was fired for following company procedures and it really sucks. I'm a hard worker and I always do more than what is required of me and I got the ax . They fired another employee without cause as well as me. So were going to take our case to a lawyer and see if there's anything they can do for us. It sucks because we could lose our licenses over this. I could lose my entire career over crap that I never did. So as you can imagine I'm having a very stressful day. I would ask that everyone keep my family in their prayers at this time. I have two children and losing my salary puts my family in a tough spot to say the least. I hope everyone else is having a much better St. Patrick's Day.

 Legacy's Forbidden Love part forty-four

Kristen stepped off the elevator forty-five minutes later. She was, accompanied by two guards, who followed her off. Damon’s men immediately pressed their guns into the men’s backs. “Will take her from here.” Damon told them taking Kristen’s arm. The men who had been taken completely by surprise nodded their heads in surprise. Kristen followed Damon, unaware of the guns being held to the men’s back. Reaching Trey’s office Kristen followed Damon in. Trey’s guards took up position in front of the door. Once Kristen was inside, he nodded to his men to release the guard’s. Damon used his cell phone to text message Trey.
Opening his phone Trey read “Have her!” He felt relief wash over him. He’d make sure this never happened again. From now on Kristen would be well guarded. He’d hire a detail to watch over her. He was relieved when the meeting was finally over. He hurried to his office, where he found Damon teaching Kristen how to play poker.
“He’s going to teach me how to fleece you at cards.” Kristen told Trey with a smile.
“How can he teach you what he doesn’t know how to do?” Trey replied smiling at her.
“I’ve beaten you.” Damon retorted.
“On occasion.” Trey allowed. “Are you ready for lunch?”
“Yes.” Kristen said setting the cards down.
“Did you have fun shopping?” Trey asked.
“Yes, but I hope your Grandpa doesn’t get mad when he sees the bill.” Kristen worried aloud.
“I doubt it.” Trey said with a laugh.
“It cost an awful lot. His men said he wouldn’t mind?” Kristen told him rising. They had spent nearly two thousand dollars at the sporting goods store. She had almost fainted when she saw the total.
“Don’t worry, my grandfather can afford it.” Trey said. He found her worry over the bill amusing.
“Ah Kristen, you’re here.” Edward said coming into Trey’s office. His men had informed him of what Trey’s guards had done to them. The smile faded from Trey’s face at the sight of his Grandpa. “How was shopping?” He asked looking over the bill one of his men had handed him.
“I can take some stuff back.” She said quickly.
“My wife spends more than this on her hair. Are you sure you got everything you need.” Edward commented.
“I actually bought way more than I needed.” Kristen told him. She had picked out a couple pairs of jeans, and of couple shirts. His men had added a bunch more clothes to her pile once they knew her size. They had told her Edward would have a fit if she didn’t buy more. “I know it’s an awful lot.”
“Trey carries more than this in his wallet.” Edward told her handing the bill to Trey.
“Five pairs of jeans, five shirts, and a pair of boots.” Trey said. “You didn’t buy any undergarments?” Trey asked.
“They didn’t have anything like that.” Kristen answered turning red.
“I thought I told you men to take her to the mall as well.” Edward said with a frown.
“She wouldn’t go.” The guard replied.
“I don’t need anything else.” Kristen replied. “Trey bought me a bunch clothes in California, and my grandma is bringing all my clothes from home with her when she comes back.”
“Call her and tell her not to bother.” Trey said setting the bill down.
“Why?”
“You won’t need them; you’ll be fitted with an entire wardrobe in New York.” Trey told her his eyes moving over her attire.
“I’ll take her shopping after lunch.” Trey said getting up from his chair.
“I have another issue to take up with you. You’re marrying this girl. And yet I fail to see a ring on her finger.” Edward told him.
“I haven’t had a chance to get one for her yet.” Trey answered.
“When you ask a woman to marry you, it’s proper to present her with a ring. Dammit! Where are your manners?” Edward said angrily.
“Dad, things have been really hectic.” John put in.
“You’re having an engagement photo taken tonight. How’s it going to look when people notice she doesn’t have a ring on her finger?” Edward demanded.
“Will have to postpone the picture.” Trey suggested. He knew he had been remiss.
“No need, I’ve taken care of the matter. Three top jewelers are waiting in the outer office. They’ve brought a collection of rings with them. Kristen can choose a ring before we go to lunch.” Edward said nodding to the guards to escort the men in.
Kristen watched as each man opened a metal case the size of a brief case. Setting them on the table in Trey’s office. When the men stepped back Kristen moved forward to look at the rings in each of the cases. They were all huge she thought. No price tags! How could she pick out the cheapest one without seeing the price tag?
“See anything you like?” Trey asked moving up behind her.
“There all beautiful.” Kristen commented. She looked over the rings in each case. She would pick out the smallest one. That would be the cheapest she thought. But they were all huge. Didn’t they have anything smaller? “That one.” She said selecting one that appeared to be a little smaller than the rest.
“Try it on, before you decide.” Trey told her.
One of the jeweler’s came forward to take the ring out of its case. Slipping it on Kristen’s finger. The band was too large, that would have to be fixed. Kristen held her hand out staring at the huge diamond that sparkled in the light.
“Do you like it?” Trey asked her.
“Yes, it’s beautiful.” Kristen replied nodding her head.
“Are you sure, maybe you should try some of the others.” Trey told her. But Kristen shook her head at him. She knew what she wanted he thought.
“Excellent choice Miss. I was planning to showcase that ring at my show later this month. The jeweler was very pleased. She had chosen the most expensive ring in his collection. “It is a very rare diamond, perfect in every way. You won’t ever find another that equals it. You have a very good eye.” The jeweler told her.
Trey had taken the ring and was inspecting it. The jeweler was telling the truth the diamond was flawless. Kristen had chosen the most expensive ring in the collection of rings. That hadn’t been her intent he knew. She had chosen the ring because it was the smallest. Probably equating size with price. He handed the ring to his Grandpa to inspect. He nodded his approval to Trey, handing the ring to John. When John had inspected it he gave a nod of approval as well.
“Will take the ring. Have it fitted; we need it by this evening.” Trey told the man.
“Would you like to discuss the cost Sir, it’s rather pricey.” The jeweler asked a gleam in his eyes.
“No.” Trey said shaking his head. It didn’t matter what it cost. Kristen wanted it, and she would have it.
“If you’ll give me a moment I’ll get the bill of sale.” The jeweler said going to his brief case to retrieve the necessary form. He quickly pulled the form out and took it to Trey, who had returned to his desk. He handed the form to Trey to sign. Trey looked over the bill, noting the price. Five million dollars! Even he was taken a back by the price. With a sigh he signed the bill of sale, and handed it back to the eager jeweler.
“How much did you soak him for?” Edward asked taking the bill of sale from the Jeweler. His eyebrows arched as he gazed at the total. “Ouch!” He said handing the bill to John.
“Christ!” John said in disbelief. “I paid half this amount for Jessica’s ring.” John commented.
“I assure you the ring is worth every cent.” The jeweler told them quickly. “Should I bill it to your account?”
“Yes.” Trey said.
“Let’s get something to eat, I’m hungry.” Trey told Kristen noting the look of horror on her face. He took her arm to lead her out of the room. “Coming Grandpa?”
“Right behind you. Make sure that ring is ready by this evening. And Gentleman, I’m counting on you to be discreet. I would be most unhappy if Trey’s engagement were to leak out before it is officially announced.” Edward told them before leaving to follow his Grandson.

They were seated at a table in a private club. Waiter’s hovered around the table as they looked over the menu. Kristen’s eyes moved over the menu in wonder. She couldn’t believe the prices. Her eyes lit with delight when she discovered that they served buffalo as well as beef. She loved buffalo meat.
“See anything you like?” Edward asked setting the menu aside.
“Yes.” Kristen said.
“Good.” He waved a waiter forward to take their orders. “I’ll have the 16 0z prime rib, medium, baked potato, and soup.” Edward quickly ordered.
“I’ll have the same, with a house salad.” Trey ordered.
“I’ll have the 8oz broiled Buffalo, salad with blue cheese dressing, baked potato with everything.” Kristen said. Waiters moved in to take their menus. She buttered a piece of warm bread. It was delicious. Than without warning she was hit with a wave of nausea. She knew she was going to be sick. She got up and raced toward the lady’s room. She didn’t make it! Two older men were walking toward her as she threw up on floor. She was mortified! In the next moment a white coat was tossed over the pool of vomit, concealing it. One of older men grasped her arm helping her to the ladies room. The older man led her through a door leading into a salon outside the main bathroom area. He seated her on the sofa, before going to fetch a cool cloth. “Are you alright?” Trey asked in concern kneeling before her.
“I got sick.” She said feeling ashamed.
“It’s okay. It’s to be expected.” Trey told her stroking her head.
“Here Trey.” The older man said handing him a damp cloth.
“Thanks Gus.” Trey told the man. He gently pressed the cool cloth to her forehead.
“The man who had thrown his coat over her mess came in than carrying a glass in his hand. “Here drink this Miss; it will help settle your stomach.” The man said with concern.
Kristen took the glass from him. She took a sip from the glass. She didn’t know what the drink was called. It had a sweet fruity flavor. It thankfully took the bad taste out of her mouth. It was very soothing to her stomach. She was starting to feel better already. She wished she had the recipe for the drink. It would help with the morning sickness. She had started having spells of morning sickness. Except in her case she seemed to get sick at different times of the day.
“Are you feeling better?” Trey asked. The color was returning to her face, which was a good sign he thought.
“Yes.” Kristen said thankfully.
An older lady gave a start upon entering the ladies room to find three men there. “I beg you pardon, this is the ladies room.” The older woman said recovering herself.
“Is it? Damn thought this was the men’s room! No wonder I couldn’t find a urinal.” Gus commented in amusement looking around.
“Leave at once before I’m forced to alert the manager.” The older woman replied stiffly. She wasn’t the least bit amused by finding men in the ladies room.
“Calm down, were helping this young lady. She was feeling faint.” Gus told her.
“I’m okay.” Kristen said standing up. She didn’t want them getting into any trouble.
“Don’t you work here young man?” The older woman asked Murdock. He looked familiar to her. “Aren’t you the Chef?”
“Yes ma’am.” Murdock replied with a nod.
“What are you doing in the ladies room out of uniform?” She questioned looking him up and down.
“He was helping us.” Gus told her.
“Come on, let’s get out of here.” Trey said guiding Kristen out of the ladies room. “Thank you for your help.” Trey told Murdock dismissing him.
“Yes Sir.” Murdock said with a nod. He headed back to the kitchen.
“Kristen, this is an old friend of the family Gus Miller. Gus, this is Miss Kristen Anderson.” Trey said introducing them.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss.” Gus said shaking her hand. He wondered what Trey’s interest was in this girl. She was awfully young, but beautiful; with an alluring innocence. He couldn’t remember having ever laid eyes on her before. But he remembered her as the young woman he had seen in the paper with Trey. She wasn’t the sort of woman Trey usually dated. Gus followed them into the dinning area. He was further surprised to see them sit down with his grandfather Edward Harrington. “Hey you old goat, haven’t seen you in a here in a while.” Gus greeted Edward with a smile.
“Hello Gus.” Edward said stiffly. He had never liked Gus Miller. But he was a close friend of John’s.
“Mind if I join you?” Gus said pulling up a chair. He seated himself at the table not waiting for Edward’s approval.
“What about Woodrow?” Trey asked. Woodrow was Gus’s partner and friend for more than thirty years. He was seated at a table a few feet from them.
“Woodrow, what the hell you doing over there? Pull up a chair.” Gus hollered to Woodrow. Not caring that everyone turned to look at him. With a sigh of disgust Woodrow got up stiffly and walked over to take a chair at the Harrington table. He was used to Gus causing scenes.
“Woodrow.” Edward greeted more warmly.
“Woodrow was a tall thin man, in his late fifties. His hair and beard were already white. He was a soft, spoken man, unlike his partner. He only spoke when there was something to be said. He was a self -made millionaire, who had worked hard to build his business. He had never married, never had much interest in women. Gus was his complete opposite. Gus was a talker who never shut up. He didn’t think Gus had a serious thought in his head. Gus was a womanizer who had been married three times so far. All the marriage’s had ended in divorce. Gus had loved his first wife Amy very much, still did in fact. But Amy had never gotten along with Woodrow. She had hated him from the start. She had done her best to end Gus’s partnership with Woodrow. But Gus was loyal to his friend of many years. And he wouldn’t allow her to get in the way of that friendship. A fact that had driven Amy to divorce Gus. She and Gus had one child together, a son. His second and third wives were young women, more interested in his money than him. Gus was a charmer, who had always had a woman in his bed. Gus watched Kristen throughout the meal. It was pretty clear that Kristen was in love with Trey. It was there in her eyes every time she looked at him. Edward accepted the girl, which was very surprising indeed. The girl wasn’t from a wealthy family, Gus was certain of that. She seemed most uncomfortable in the fancy dining room. He noticed that when each course was served. She waited to see which silverware the men picked up to use. Indicating she wasn’t used to being in a fine dining establishment. She was also pregnant; Gus would bet his life on it. Despite being ill earlier the girl ate all of her lunch without problem. And there was a definite glow to her. Gus knew that look. Was she carrying Trey’s child? Trey, hadn’t been, surprised by her getting sick. Had told her it was to be expected. Did he intend to marry her than?
“Trey, is your Dad in town?” Gus asked intending to get to the bottom of this situation. He felt sorry for the poor kid. She was definitely in over her head.
“Yes.” Trey replied between bites of steak. He was relieved that Kristen was feeling better. “You should join us for dinner at the ranch tonight.”
“I think I’ll do that, I haven’t talked with your old man in a while.” Gus replied.
The rest of the meal passed in a pleasant fashion. Kristen liked Gus who was quite a charmer. She didn’t, much like Woodrow, he made her uneasy. Didn’t the man ever smile? When lunch was over she got up to go to the ladies room. As she walked through the room the Manager passed by her looking really angry.
“Where the hell is Murdock?” The manager asked a waiter quietly. The waiter pointed a crossed the room to where Murdock stood talking to some patrons at a table. The Manager strolled across the room, he could feel his blood pressure rising. Murdock was out of uniform! Where the hell was his coat? He wasn’t supposed to leave the kitchen. But the man was always wandering out to talk to patrons. Which would have been okay, except that he was a complete nut case? He was a brilliant Chef, which was the only reason the Manager kept him around. But the man had gone to far this time. Edna Maynard, one of the clubs oldest and most respected members had caught the man hanging out in the ladies room. “Murdock could I have a word with you?” The Manager asked politely before leading him a crossed the room away and out into a hall way. “What the hell are you doing out here?” The Manager demanded when they were out of earshot. “And where in the hell is your jacket? You’re out of uniform!”
“I had to take it off.” Murdock answered with a shrug.
“I have told you repeatedly that you’re not to leave the kitchen area. And now I hear you’ve been hanging out in the ladies room! I have no choice but to fire you.” He told Murdock as Kristen passed by them.
“You can’t fire him!” Kristen exclaimed. “He was helping me.” She told the Manager tears coming to her eyes. It was all her fault!
“What’s going on here?” Trey asked noting Kristen’s tears.
“Their firing him because of me.” She told Trey.
“That’s not true Sir. The man’s out of uniform.” The Manager told him quickly.
“It’s my fault! He took his coat off to cover up my mess.” Kristen was crying now.
“What’s going on here?” Edward demanded seeing her tears.
“Miss, it’s not your fault! The man’s a nightmare; I was going to fire him anyways.” The Manager assured her sweat breaking out on his brow.
“Baby, it’s alright.” Trey told her gently. “He’s not fired, my Grandpa owns this club.”
“Really?” She asked wiping her eyes with the handkerchief he handed her.
“Yes.” Edward said. “You’re rehired.” He told Murdock before waving a hand in dismissal.
Murdock just shrugged and headed back to the kitchen to check his sauce.

 Legacy's Forbidden Love part forty-three

Trey was in his office working when Damon barged in with his security detail. “What the hell are you doing back here, I told you to watch Kristen?” Trey demanded when he didn’t see Kristen with them.
“She’s gone Boss.” Damon answered grimly.
“What do you mean?” Trey asked with dread.
“Your grandpa’s security took her off the ranch this morning. No one knows where they were headed with her.” Damon said with worry. The blood had drained from Trey’s face.
Trey was numb with fear. His Grandpa had the power to make Kristen disappear forever. He didn’t think his Grandpa would hurt her. But he doubted he’d ever see her again. No! Trey thought he wouldn’t allow this to happen. He took a deep breath to steady himself, before opening the top drawer on his desk. He pulled his gun out. It was loaded!
“What are you going to do?” Damon asked seeing the gun.
“We’re going to get her back.” Trey replied rising from the desk with his gun. He knew his men were armed.
“You are going to shoot your Grandpa?” Damon asked.
“Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.” Trey answered leading the way out of his office. Damon and his men pulled their guns out to follow Trey. He stormed down toward his Grandpa’s office, not bothering to knock they rushed in gun’s drawn. Edward’s guards pulled their weapons to deflect the attack.
“What the hell are you doing?” John demanded in shock. Trey had a gun aimed at his father. His security guards had their weapons drawn and pointed at his Dad’s security guards. Who had their weapons pointed at Trey’s security team?
“Stay out of this Dad. He had Kristen removed from the ranch.” Trey told his Dad not taking his eyes off his Grandpa. “Tell me where she is?” Trey ordered his Grandpa. Who was calmly staring at him from behind his desk?
Dino chose that moment to storm in with more security guards. Josh was ready having pulled his own gun from the holster; he always wore a gun to work. He aimed the gun at Dino’s head. “Lower your weapons!” Josh ordered keeping the gun to Dino’s head. The confused guards did as they were told. Dino stood frozen in place. What the hell was going on here?
“Dammit Dad! Tell your men to drop their weapons! You’re out numbered!” John yelled at his Dad.
“How do you figure that? Trey’s surrounded.” Edward replied calmly. This was an interesting turn of events. He couldn’t believe his own grandson had a gun pointed at him! Damn the boy had balls! He thought proudly. Josh wasn’t such a wimp after all. He still had a gun aimed at Dino’s head. He had guarded Trey’s back despite everything Trey had done to him. Trey was lucky indeed. His men held their ground, even though they were out numbered.
“Dino works for me.” John told his Dad. “Men.” He said signaling them with a nod of his head. They moved into the room their gun’s pointed at Edward’s men. Josh seeing this moved his gun to point at the security guard on Edward’s right.
“What the hell are you doing?” Edward asked Dino, who had his weapon aimed at Edward as well. “Tell your men to take out Trey’s guards.”
“Stand your ground!” John ordered Dino.
“Looks like you’re the one outnumbered. Tell me where she’s at?” Trey told his grandpa.
Edward studied his grandson with a frown. He was secretly relieved that Dino had backed John in the fight. His son’s people were loyal to him. Trey’s action told him just how much he cared for Kristen. The boy was in love with her, even if he didn’t realize it.
“Dad, tell your men to drop their guns, and have Kristen brought back.” John ordered.
“For your information, I haven’t sent her anywhere.” Edward replied signaling his men to lower their weapons. Their guns had been aimed at Trey’s men. Not one man had dared to point a gun at a member of his family. Edward would have shot the man who tried that.
“He’s lying; his men took Kristen off the ranch this morning.” Trey’s gun remained pointed at his grandpa.
“Dad?”
“They escorted Kristen into town to buy supplies for the camping trip; she’ll be brought here when she’s done for lunch.” Edward answered leaning back in his chair.
“How do we know your not lying to buy time to move her even farther away?” Trey asked.
“You’re pointing a gun at me, why would I lie?” Edward asked. The boy was right he would have lied if he had intended to take the girl away.
“I want to talk to her!” Trey told him nodding toward the phone.
With a sigh, Edward picked up the phone. He dialed a number and waited
“Put it on speaker.” Trey ordered. Edward did as he was told. They all listened to the phone ring.
“Sir.” A voice greeted.
“How is it going?” Edward asked the man.
“Good Sir, were almost done.” The voice replied.
“Were you able to get Kristen outfitted with everything she needs for the trip?”
“Yes Sir.”
“Have him put her on.” Trey ordered.
“Sir?” The man asked confused.
“Let me talk to Kristen?” Edward said. His grandson was smart, he didn’t trust anyone. They all waited for the man to hand the phone to Kristen.
“Hello?” Kristen said.
“Are you having fun?” Edward asked looking at Trey.
“Yes.” Kristen replied happily.
“Did you get a good pair of boots?” Edward asked.
“Yes, and I got a bunch of new clothes.” Kristen answered clearly excited.
“Make sure you pick out a warm sleeping bag. It gets cold in the mountains.” Edward told her smiling at her enthusiasm.
Trey lowered his gun. His grandpa was telling the truth. She sounded as if she were having lots of fun. He didn’t detect any anxiety in her voice.
“I’ll let you get back to shopping, see you at lunch.” Edward said hanging up.
“Satisfied?” Edward asked. “I would have told you where she was, you didn’t need to pull a gun on me. Talk about overreacting!” Edward said rising from his chair. He wasn’t the least bit shaken by Trey’s actions. “Let’s get this meeting over with.” With that he marched out of his office. “By the way Trey, it was awful easy for me to move her without your knowledge.”
“Christ! Will discuss this later.” John told his sons before following his father.
“Thanks.” Trey told Josh quietly.
“If you’re gonna get shot it will be by me.” Josh told his brother putting his gun back in his shoulder holster. He turned walking out of the office.
“Take procession of Kristen when she arrives.” Trey ordered Damon.
