Desari's Enchanted Love Stories

Damon was dealing cards when his phone rang. “Damon here!” “Damon, how’s Kristen doing?” Trey asked worry apparent in his tone. The quip about Kristen trying to kill herself was making him nervous. “She’s upstairs resting Boss, stop worrying.” Damon replied. “Look Damon I got a bad feeling, something’s wrong, let me talk to Kristen.” “Sure Boss, I’ll go check.” Damon carried the phone upstairs and knocked on Kristen’s door. No response the hairs went up on the back of his neck. Pushing the door open, Damon noted the open window and what looked like the sheets twisted into a rope and draped out the window. “Shit!” “What’s going on?” Trey questioned him. “She’s gone Boss.” Damon answered reluctantly. “What?” Trey asked unable to believe it. Christ! Everything was going to hell! “It looks like she tied the sheets together and went out the window. Damon answered assessing the situation. “Don’t worry, will track her down Boss, she can’t get too far on foot.” “It’s the middle of the night and she’s out wandering in the darkness. And I shouldn’t worry! What if she falls and hurts herself, she’s pregnant. You were supposed to keep an eye on her!” Trey raged in frustration and fear. “I’m sorry Boss; I never thought she would go out a second story window.” Damon answered calmly. “Why would she take off, did you say or do something that scared her?” Trey demanded. “No Boss, but she did get upset over the phone thing.” Damon answered thinking back. “What phone thing?” Trey asked in exasperation. “I caught her talking to someone on the phone so I took the phone out of her room. I didn’t want anyone tracing her call.” Damon answered defending his actions. “Christ, who was she talking to? If she told her family where she’s at, than Josh probably knows, he knows her cousin Jamie. Look Damon, find her, and find her quick. I’m on my way; I’ll be there in an hour.” “Don’t worry Boss, will find her.” Damon assured Trey before clicking the phone off. His eyes moved about the room, looking for anything she might have taken. A quick check showed that all of her clothess were accounted for. She hadn’t even taken the fur coat or emerald necklace, both of which were worth a small fortune. Damon picked up her purse from the nightstand. A quick search showed that she had taken her I.D, and what little money she had. She wouldn’t get far on what little she had. He was relieved that the Boss’s girl didn’t have the means to disappear. But there was another more serious problem. Kristen was out there in the cold with only a light jacket, and no flashlight. So she was blind to danger, and would probably fall and break her neck. Hopefully the girl had headed for the road; if she followed it she would be okay. But than on the roadway she might try hitchhiking and that could be just as dangerous as wandering about in the woods. Heading downstairs Damon gathered the other guards, and explained the situation. No one was happy to hear that Kristen had escaped. “We don’t have much time; the Boss is on his way here. I don’t have to tell you that it would be good if we could get her back before he gets here. She’s out there in the dark, wandering about blindly. It’s only a matter of time before she gets hurt or worse.” Damon pointed out. “She means a lot to the Boss, so it’s our asses if something happens to her. So get out there and find her, before it’s too late.” Damon ordered. The guards quickly split into two teams, the first team taking the roads. They took two Dodge pickups so as to cover the road in both directions. The other team broke out four wheelers and dirt bikes, they head across the pastures. Damon waited at the house for Trey to arrive in a chopper. He was standing on the porch when he sees headlights headed toward the house. At first he’s relieved because he thinks his men have found Kristen. But as the lights get closer he realizes that their not Dodge lights, but ford explorer lights. The explorers pull up to the house. Damon holds his position on the porch. He doesn’t have to guess about whom is in the explorers, he knows Josh has found them. So when Josh jumps from the explorer Damon doesn’t even blink in surprise. Damon watched as Josh stormed toward him, backed up by several well armed friends.
“I’ve come for Kristen, where is she?” Josh demanded getting into Damon’s face. “She’s not here.” Damon answered not backing down from his position. “Bull shit, we know she’s here. We traced a call to this house.” Josh replied in anger. “She’s gone, if you don’t believe me search the house.” Damon answered stepping aside to allow them to search the house. Josh and his friends head into the house, searching every room. When they get to Kristen’s room they see her clothes. Josh took in the fur coat and emerald necklace with disgust, so he had lured her with gifts. Just like his brother to throw his money about. There was no sign of Kristen. Had Trey moved her already? But why leave her clothes behind? Josh is still puzzling over this when he sees the sheet leading out the window. What the hell, she must have climbed down the sheet to escape. Calling his friends Josh headed downstairs. “She climbed out the window, and took off.” Josh stated. For the first time he realized that the rest of Trey’s security detail was missing. “The other guys are out searching for her, why aren’t you?” Josh asked. “I’m waiting for the Boss.” Damon figured there was no sense in lying. “Trey’s coming here to search for her?” Josh questioned but didn’t wait for an answer. “Come on we’ve got to find her before Trey does.” Josh tells his friends heading for the door.
Damon watched them get into their cars, and drive off. For such a small girl she was causing big trouble. For the first time in his service to Trey, Damon was about to disobey an order. The stakes were getting to high, they needed help. Pulling out his phone Damon punched in a number he thought he would never need. “Dino here,” Dino answered. He listened as Damon filled him in on what had taken place. “Dino you better tell Mr. Harrington what’s going on. If Trey and Josh collide it’s going to be bad for them, and worse for that poor girl.” Damon said he hated going behind Trey’s back. But it was for his own good, he needed his Father’s help even if he couldn’t see it. “I’ll tell Mr. Harrington, you did good calling us Damon.” Dino replied before hanging up. They were seated on the Harrington 747. John was trying to work, but couldn’t seem to concentrate do to his worry. Everything seemed to be sliding out of his control. Frustrated John hurled the contract in his hands across the plane. It landed at Dino’s feet. “Sorry to disturb you Sir, but Damon just called. He’s got a bad situation. Kristen has disappeared.” “What? So he did have her?” John commented in disgust. Trey had gone to far this time.. “She crawled out the window; the guards most have spooked her. It gets worse. Josh traced a call to the house where they were staying. He and some of his friends showed up there but left when they found Kristen gone. They’re out searching for her too. Trey is on his way there to help search for her. Damon feels that it will make for a very explosive situation if they happen to cross paths.” “Christ, what a mess. Talk to the men. We’ve got to find that girl before something happens to her. If Trey finds her, he’s going to run with her. If that happens there’s no telling what Josh will do. Not to mention we’ve got armed guards and friends headed for a collision, someone could be badly hurt or worse.” John pointed out. He watched as Dino disappeared down a hallway leading to the back of the plane. “We’ve got a situation boys. Kristen has run away from Trey’s security detail. They’re out searching for her right now. So are Josh and a group of his friends. I don’t have to tell you that this is a dangerous situation. Both sides are well armed. I want you boys to find that girl and bring her to the ranch.” Dino ordered. “What do we do if we run into Trey or Josh?” A.J asked dreading the very idea. “Try to avoid contact with them, but if you run into them be honest. Tell them Mr. Harrington sent you out to help search for the girl.” Dino instructed. If and when you spot her, you grab her and bring her directly to the ranch.” Dino ordered. He split the men up into teams, each team concentrating on a specific area.
Meanwhile Trey’s chopper is landing near the farm house. As soon as the chopper sets down Trey jumps out. Bending down to avoid the blades Trey walks toward Damon who is waiting nearby. “Any word?” Trey asked. “No Sir, nothing yet.” Damon answered absently. Should I tell him about Josh? He wondered quietly. “She couldn’t have gotten very far on foot. Maybe she flagged someone down for a ride.” Trey reasoned. “No Sir, she didn’t take the road. We found some footprints in the pasture. She took the pasture, must have figured we’d check the road. It’s easier to hide in a pasture.” Damon informed him. “Christ she’s out in the pasture, wandering around in the dark. What if she falls into a hole or ditch?” Trey asked in horror.
“As soon, as the sun comes up will get the choppers up, they should be able to spot her.” Damon said avoiding Trey’s question. “There’s another problem, Josh and his friends were here about an hour ago. They traced the phone call Kristen made. When they found her gone they went out to search for her.” Damon supplied reluctantly. “Great, that’s just what we need.” Trey muttered suddenly exhausted. “I’m sorry Boss, I never figured she’d run or I would have guarded her better.” Damon apologized. “It’s not your fault it’s mine. I never should have done this. She must think I’m trying to get rid of her. I handled it wrong.” Trey admitted. “We have to find her before my brother does.” Trey said heading toward a waiting chopper. *****
Out in the darkness Kristen is cold and tired. She’s covered in dirt and grime from taking a couple of falls. Her body is one big ache. Seeing a light ahead Kristen stumbled toward it. She prayed it was a house, and that someone was home. She needed help; her only thought was to get to her Grandma. She would know what to do. She prayed that the baby was alright, and hadn’t been hurt in the falls. The further she walked the further away the light seemed to get. I’ve been walking forever, how far away is that light? I can’t make it much further. My legs hurt so bad I can hardly move them. I’m so cold! I’m going to freeze to death out here. I should have brought the fur coat Trey bought me. It would have kept me warmer than this stupid jacket. How much further is it? Am I even walking in the right direction? I’m lost! I don’t know where I am. Tears of exhaustion filled Kristen’s eyes and she fell to her knees. I can’t make it! I give up! What do I care if I freeze to death, my Mom’s going to kill me anyway? Just as she is ready to collapse on the ground and give up she thinks about her baby. If I die so does the baby, I can’t let the baby die. I have to keep moving, I have to find help. It takes all her will power to make it back onto her feet. Her jeans are soaked from the moisture on the grass, adding to her chill. Her teeth chatter as she again moves toward the light in the distance. Please God help me and my baby. An hour later on the verge of collapse Kristen reaches an old farmhouse. Unable to stay on her feet she falls to the ground, but manages to crawl the last couple of feet to the door. The sun is starting to come up when she rings the doorbell, from a crouched position. She only has the strength to ring the bell once before collapsing onto the doormat. She is unconscious when the door opens. The, door is opened by an old rancher, named Willie Adams. He was startled to find a young woman passed out on his doorstep. He called for his wife Betsy to come quick. He than rolled the girl over, she was so still that Willie thought she was dead at first. He quickly searched and found a faint pulse.
“What is it Willie?” Betsy asked her heart pounding. She had been upstairs when he cried out for her to come quick.
“A young woman, she’s hurt.” Willie answered. “Missy can you hear me.” Willie asked shaking her in an attempt to bring her around.
“I’m pregnant, my baby…please help me!” Kristen moaned before sliding once again into unconsciousness. “God she’s pregnant Betsy, we’ve got to get her to a Doctor. Stay with her while I get the car.” Willie told his wife as he scrambled to his feet and headed out the door.

"This is Josh Harrington." Josh answered. Casey was seated in a van loaded with surveillance equipment, talking into his cell phone. "I’ve got some information for you. I tapped the phones in her cousin’s place, and we just caught a big break. Kristen just called to speak with her Grandmother. The call came from Montana, just outside of Billing's. Here's the address..." Casey informed Josh. He hung up feeling relieved. But his relief was short lived. How had she gotten to Montana? Trey had to be behind this he thought darkly.
Across town Todd is just leaving his place when the phone rings. He picks it up and says "This is Todd...” "Todd this is Josh I found Kristen. Trey took her. He's holding her at a place outside of Billings. I need help with his security detail. Are you in?" Joshua quickly informed Todd, silently praying for their help. "Is this some kind of joke?" Todd asked in an amused tone. "No, Todd this isn't a joke. I'm serious Trey’s behind her disappearance." Josh assured him trying to keep the desperation out of his voice. "Why would Trey kidnap her?" Todd asked amusement still present in his voice. "Look I don't have time to explain now! I'll explain it all on our way to Billings!" Josh broke in irritation apparent in his voice. “Okay don’t get pissed will help you.” Todd answered. “I’ll meet you guys at the airport.” Josh said before hanging up. *****
“How’s the search coming?” John asked Dino glancing up from the reports he was working on. “We’re wasting our time, she’s not in L.A.” Dino announced drawing John’s full attention. “Where is she?” John asked. “Somewhere in Montana.” Dino answered. “How the hell did she get up there? I was told she didn’t have much money.” John asked. “Trey.” Dino supplied. “She’s not on the ranch, I would have heard.” John stated. “No, Trey’s got her stashed somewhere.” Dino said with a shrug. “I told him to stay away from her.” John muttered in disbelief. “I did some checking. Trey’s men flew into L.A the night Kristen disappeared. I believe they grabbed her and chartered a small leer jet to fly them to Billings. Unfortunately the trail goes cold from there.” He told John. “Christ I’m going to kill him.” John ranted getting up from his desk. “Assemble the men were flying back to the ranch.” John ordered. *****
Chapter Thirteen Rising from his desk in his office in Montana Trey greeted Rebecca Anderson shaking her hand. She been flown into Billings from Spokane and was completely out of sorts. Strange men had appeared at her door. They had told her that she needed to come with them. And that it was about Kristen. But that was it! She had no idea what this was about? She had flown into Billings with the men and spent the night in a lavish hotel room. All expenses paid for by a Trey Harrington. She had never heard of him and couldn’t imagine a connection between him and Kristen. She took a seat across from Trey’s desk feeling uneasy. He was very handsome, and appeared to be very rich she thought as her eyes moved over him. Her eyes than moved over the two men standing behind him Feeling uncomfortable her eyes shifted back to Trey. “Mrs. Anderson I want to thank you for coming.” Trey said as he sized her up. “They said this had something to do with Kristen?” She asked not one to beat around the bush. “It does. I spent some time with you’re daughter in L.A. She’s very beautiful.” He told her. When she remained silent he continued. “We spent quite a bit of time together.” He paused. “You’ve been spending time with my daughter? I don’t understand! How is it that you even know her? Are you a friend of Jamie’s?” She asked. “No, I met her through my brother.” He answered. “He met your daughter at a beach party.” “Beach party?” She mumbled. What was Kristen doing at a beach party? “Why did you bring me here? Has something happened Kristen?” She asked impatiently. “Kristen is pregnant with my child.” Trey decided to be blunt. He didn’t have time for a lengthy discussion. “What?” The color drained from Rebecca’s face. “No!” She said as she shook her head. “That’s impossible she hasn’t even been gone a week. “I’m sorry Ma’am but it’s true.” Trey responded. “She’s only sixteen, and you’re…” She was at a loss for words her mind was numb. “Twenty-two.” He supplied. “I’m truly sorry about this.” “You’re sorry?” Rebecca replied. “You had no right to touch my daughter, she’s only sixteen. “I know how you must be feeling Mrs. Anderson, but I assure you Kristen will be well cared for.” He told her she looked ready to explode. “I never should have let her go to L.A. I knew it was a mistake.” She said her temper boiling over. “I should have known that little slut couldn’t be trusted.” She stated causing Trey to stiffen. “Mrs. Anderson I would like you’re permission to marry Kristen.” He pressed on. “That’s out of the question she’s only sixteen. She’ll have to have an abortion.” Rebecca replied. “I don’t think so. She’s carrying my baby and I don’t intend to let anything happen to it.” Trey stated. “Tough! She’s not going to have the baby and I intend have you brought up on rape charges.” She threatened. She was going to kill Kristen when she got a hold of her. “Be reasonable Mrs. Anderson.” Trey told her with a sigh. “I know this is a shock, but please listen. “My family is very wealthy you’re daughter would be well cared for.” “Save it! I don’t care how much money you have!” She said holding up a hand. “My answer is no.” She rose to her feet intending to leave. “Mrs. Anderson you’re daughter will be able to have anything she wants if she marries me. I fail to see why you would refuse?” Trey was baffled. Women had been throwing their daughters at him for years in hopes he would marry them. “My family is worth Billions.” He added it was possible the woman was unfamiliar with his family. “I’ll make it worth you’re while.” He said when she started to walk away. “Just tell me how much?” He asked removing a check book from his pocket. “I don’t want you’re money!” Rebecca stiffened turning to glare at him. “How much is it going to cost for you to say yes?” Everyone had a price he thought as he wrote out a check. “How dare you!” She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. He was offering to buy her daughter! “How does two million dollars sound?” He tore the check from his check book and held it out to her. She stared at the check for a moment before walking towards him to take the check. She proceeded to tear the check up and toss it onto the floor with a cold smile. “You’re making a mistake.” Trey told her with a frown. “My daughter won’t be marrying you. Something you should be thankful for. My daughter’s not fit to be you’re wife. She’s unstable! She spent a week in a psych ward after she tried to kill herself. Trust me you don’t want to have anything to do with her. I’ll make sure she has an abortion.” She told him and was pleased to see the shock that briefly registered on his face. She turned and walked toward the door. “This isn’t over Mrs. Anderson I urge you to reconsider, because one way or another I will get you’re daughter.” He threatened his face darkening. She exited his office slamming the door on her way out. Picking up the phone he dialed Paul Williams Chief of Security at the Harrington ranch. “Paul Williams!” He answered he was seated in his office on the Harrington ranch. “Paul this is Trey. I want you to do a thorough back ground check on Kristen Anderson, I want to know everything there is to know about her and her family.” He read off her social security number and home address. “I’ll get right on it.” Paul said before hanging up the phone. In his office a frustrated Trey leaned back in his chair. Things hadn’t gone as he expected. He had wanted to get this all taken care of. Rebecca’s refusal complicated things. And he was disturbed by the things she had revealed about her daughter. If what she said was true he had a much bigger problem on his hands. He needed to take a much closer look at Kristen.
Kristen was pacing the floor in her room. Her head was filling with unpleasant questions about Trey? Why had he sent her away? Was he trying to get rid of her? And than there was her Mom, when she finds out I’m pregnant, she’ll would throw me out. What am I going to do? How will I survive? What if Trey doesn’t want me or our baby? With doubts clouding her mind Kristen decided she needed to get to her Grandma. She knew she could depend on her to help her. But how do I get out of here? The guards are still downstairs. Eyeing the window Kristen decided to try to escape through it. I need a rope. After giving it some thought she stripped the sheets off the bed, and tied them together. She tied the end to a large dresser located near the window. Tossing the sheets through the open window she prayed for the courage to climb down. Slowly she eased out the window and began to climb down praying the sheets would hold. She made it to the bottom. Inside the guards were, playing poker to kill time. She snuck around the back of the house and made a run for it. She was swallowed up by the darkness.

Chapter Twelve John was reading the paper over breakfast, when Josh entered. One look at Josh’s frowning expression, and John knew something was wrong. "What is it Josh?" John asked folding the paper. " Kristen is gone." Josh answered. "What do you mean she's gone?" John asked carefully. “She ran away last night.” He answered running a hand through his hair. “I went over to her cousin’s place to talk to her this morning. She left sometime during the night.” “Christ!” John muttered. “Did they call the police?” “Yes, the police are searching for her, but I want to get our people involved in the search. I’m going to offer a reward for information.” He told his Dad. “Why did she take off?” John asked but he was pretty sure he knew the answer. Damn Trey!! “Jamie said she was pretty upset over what happened last night. She didn’t want to face me.” Josh answered. “Understandable.” John sighed feeling sorry for the poor girl who was caught between two brothers. “There’s more. Kristen thinks she might be pregnant with Trey’s baby. According to Jamie Trey didn’t use a condom.” He continued. “She must be mistaken.” He knew Trey practiced safe sex. His son had always been careful in that regard. “Than why did Trey have a Doctor draw blood for a pregnancy test.” Josh asked watching the color drain from his father’s face. “We need to find that girl.” John stated recovering himself. He rose from the table and stormed from the room. Dino had been guarding his son while his guards were on vacation. He intended to get some answers from the old body guard. If Trey had knocked that girl up there would be hell to pay. He summoned Dino to the library and waited with Josh for him to arrive. “You wanted to see me Sir?” Dino said as he entered the library. “Close the door.” John ordered. He was seated behind his desk. Josh was standing to his right by the desk. He waited until Dino had closed the door. “I need to ask you a couple questions regarding Trey?” John said; he was putting Dino in a hard spot which was regrettable. “When did Trey start sleeping with Kristen?” “The night of the ball.” Dino answered reluctantly. Trey would not take his breach of confidence lightly but he worked for John and had for thirty years. “Did Trey ever say or do anything that indicated Kristen might be pregnant?” John asked watching Dino carefully. He was asking him to betray Trey’s trust, not something Dino took lightly. “Why don’t you ask Trey?” Dino asked. If he answered the question truthfully Trey would never trust him again. Over the years Dino had kept many secrets for Trey. Something he suspected John knew. “I would if I thought I would get an honest answer.” John replied with a sigh. “If I break his confidence he’ll never trust me again.” Dino pointed out. “It can’t be helped Dino, I need to know.” John said. “Trey had a Doctor perform a pregnancy test on Miss Kristen.” Dino finally admitted after a few moments. “Do you know the results?” John asked his heart sinking. “No.” Dino lied. “I need you to organize a search of L.A. Kristen is missing, she ran away last night.” He ordered after a moment. “I’ll get right on it.” Dino wasn’t surprised that Kristen was missing. After last night she had to be scared to death. A search of L.A wouldn’t turn anything up though. If Kristen had gone missing he would bet his entire salary that Trey was behind it. He had seen the way Trey looked at her and there was no way Trey would give her up. But for now he would keep his suspicions to himself and quietly poke around for answers. He would start with the location of Trey’s guards. “I’m going out to look for her.” Josh told his father unable to just sit around waiting for news. “Of course.” John said and watched as Josh hurried from the room. Leaning back in his chair he stared at the ceiling. This was turning into one hell of a mess. His father would explode when he got wind of this mess. She couldn’t be pregnant; Trey would never have agreed to leave if she was pregnant. Than again he hadn’t given his son much choice in the matter. He knew Trey had obeyed him, he had called the ranch to check up on him, but knowing Trey was at the ranch didn’t make John feel any better. His son was very capable of wreaking havoc from where ever he happened to be. *****
In his room Trey used his cellular phone to make a call. In an airport, where men were unloading a private jet, Kristen was led to a rental car, and placed in the back seat by several guards. Damon is overseeing the unloading of luggage when his phone rings. "Damon here!" He stated into the phone. "Where are you?" Trey asked. "At the airport, we just landed, will be heading out in about five minutes." Damon replied. "Good, how is Kristen?" Trey responded. "She's okay, she's been quiet the whole trip." Damon answered truthfully. "She's shy so don't scare her. I'll call you this evening; don't try to contact me, unless it's an emergency." Trey instructed. "Yes Sir, don't worry Boss I have everything under control." Damon responded. "Keep it that way." With those parting words Trey hung up. He placed the phone back in his pocket. He was relieved that they hadn’t had any trouble getting a hold of Kristen. With her safely tucked away he would have to deal with her parent’s. Since he was stuck in Montana he would have her mother flown in from Spokane. He had already sent some men to Spokane to fetch her mother. The sun was up and he needed to get into the office. He hadn’t gotten any sleep. He needed to get this mess cleaned up before his Dad got back to the ranch. *****
Detective Casey Smith was seated at a large desk. Files were scattered over the desk. He was wearing a blue polo shirt and dark trousers. He is tall, and skinny with dark hair and wire rim glasses. A buzzer goes off and Casey hits a button. "Yes." He says into the phone. “A Mr. Harrington wishes to speak with you, on line one." A voice over the intercom says. "Thanks Tammy." Casey says. "Josh it's been a longtime, what's up?" Casey asked. "Casey I need your help. I need you to find a woman, her name is Kristen Anderson.” Joshua told his friend. “She ran away last night.” "Ran away?" Casey asked in confusion. "It's a long story, and I don't have a lot of time, can you find her?" Joshua asked at the end of his rope. "Sure I can find her. What does she look like?" He answered with self-confidence. "She's 5"2 has waist length blonde hair, and blue eyes. She weighs about 100lbs I'd say." Joshua answered relieved to have help. “When did she disappear?” "Last night, from her cousin’s apartment building." Josh replied reading off Jamie’s address. “How much money does she have on her?” Casey asked jotting down the address. “Her cousin says she doesn’t have very much money. Maybe a hundred dollars.” Josh answered.
" Good; she can’t get very far with that amount. I'll get right on it." Casey said into the phone. "Where can I reach you?" Casey asked, he than wrote the number down, before hanging up. Josh slipped the phone back into his pocket and got out of his car. He was picking his friends up so they could help him search. They needed to find her before it got dark. *****
Staring out the window of the two-story house, Kristen is at a loss for what to do. She was surrounded by strange men, and felt very alone. She had been staying at this house for twenty-four hours, and there was no sign of Trey. She had spoken to him on the phone and he had told her that he would send for her as soon as he got things straightened out. He had also told her that she was pregnant. Turning away from the window Kristen stared at the phone located on the bed stand. She hesitated briefly before going to the phone. It was time to fess up, and with that thought in mind Kristen dialed Jamie’s number. To her surprise her grandmother answered on the first ring. "Grandma it's me Kristen." She tells her. "Kristen are you alright I've been worried sick! Where are you? Are you alright? Jamie broke down and told us everything. I’ve been so worried about you.” Her voice was shaking. "I'm alright Grandma! I'm staying in a farm house some where near Billings, Montana." Kristen assured her Grandmother before asking quietly..."Does Mom know I’m missing!"
"We haven’t been able to reach her she’s not answering her phone.” Bernice answered trying to calm herself down. “How did you get to Montana? I didn’t think you had that much money on you. And where are you staying?” "I’m staying in a farm house." She started to explain quietly. She was interrupted when Damon entered the room. Seeing her on the phone he quickly took the phone from her and hung it up. "What did you do that for, am I some kind of hostage?" Kristen asked. "Phone calls can be traced. Trey doesn’t want people to know where you’re at." Damon stated simply before removing the phone from her room. "Get some rest, if you need anything holler." Damon told her on his way out. *****

After leaving his Father’s office Trey left the building and stepped into a waiting limo alone. Taking his phone out he called Damon. “Damon I need you guys in L.A tonight. You’ll have to cut your vacation short.” Trey ordered when Damon finally picked up. “Sure, no problem.” Damon responded with a frown. It was nearly two in the morning in L.A. “How long will it take you to get back?” Trey questioned glancing at his watch. “Two hours.” Damon replied doing a time table in his head. “That’s going to cut things a bit close.” Trey replied with a frown. “When you get into this town I need you to go directly to this address. I want you to break in quietly. There’s a young woman staying in this apartment. Her name is Kristen, she has long blonde hair to her waist and blue eyes. She’s 5”2 and weighs 100lbs. I want you to take her to my safe house in Montana. Try not to scare her to much, but get her out quick. She’s staying with her cousin so be careful. Once you get her out of there tell her I sent you to get her.” Trey ordered quickly. They didn’t have much time. “Have her write out a note indicating she has runaway. That will buy me some time.” “You want us to kidnap a girl?” Damon questioned. “Yes, there’s not much time. So get going. Call me on my emergency cell when you reach the safe house.” Trey replied. “Sure boss.” Damon replied Trey sounded nervous, which was highly unusual as Trey seemed to have nerves of steel. Why would Trey ask them to kidnap a woman? None of this was making sense, but Damon knew better than to question orders. He alerted the other guys and they headed back to L.A. Kristen had tossed and turned through most of the night. She was scared to death over what had happened that night. Josh had caught her with Trey. He would no doubt come to talk to her about what she had done. How would she ever be able to explain why she had slept with Trey? And what if she was pregnant? How would she ever explain that to her mother? She was in so much trouble. She needed Trey, but she wasn’t sure she would ever see him again. She finally drifted into a fitful sleep in the early hours of the morning. She woke up to the feel of somebody clamping a hand over her mouth. She tried to scream as men surrounded her bed their faces covered with black masks and night goggles. She struggled as they picked her up carrying her from the apartment. They carried her outside into the early morning light it was nearly five in the morning. Opening a door they shoved her into the back seat of a car. “You need to write a note saying you decided to runaway.” Damon ordered handing her a note pad and pen. “Who are you? What do you want?” Kristen stammered her entire body shaking with fear. “Trey sent us to get you. Write the note.” Damon answered they needed to get out of there. It was already starting to get light out. Her hands shaking Kristen wrote out the note. Why had Trey sent these men to get her? What was going on? She handed the short note back to the man seated next to her. He ripped the note from the pad and handed it out the window. “Go.” Damon ordered the driver. The car took off. Kristen sank into the seat to afraid to move. What were they going to do to her she wondered. They drove to an airport and loaded her onto a small leer jet. “Where are you taking me?” She dared to ask as the plane started to taxi down the runway. “Somewhere safe.” Damon answered finally removing his mask. They would be extremely lucky if no one noticed them carrying her out. What did Trey want with this kid? Pulling his phone out he dialed Trey’s cell. *****
Josh knocked on Jamie’s door a little after nine the next morning. He hadn’t gotten any sleep all he could think about was Kristen, and how he didn’t want to lose her. They could get past what had happened with Trey. Now that his brother was gone they could work things out. “Josh.” Jamie said unable to hide her disappointment. She had hoped it was Kristen. She had just woke up to discover her cousin had runaway sometime during the night. She had already called the police, and her Dad and grandmother were on their way over. Somehow she would have to explain this whole mess to them. She was dead when they found out! She could only hope that Kristen had run off with Trey, because the thought of her cousin wandering the streets of L.A alone was a terrifying thought. “I need to talk to Kristen.” Josh told her taking in her robe and messy hair. “You don’t know where she is?” Jamie asked her shoulders slumping. “She’s not here?” Josh asked. “No, she took off last night. I just woke up to find her bed empty. She left this note. I’ve already called the police their sending someone over.” She told him with a weary sigh as she handed the note to him. “I was hoping she was with you or your brother.” “She’s not. Trey left last night.” He replied his heart pounding as he read the brief note from Kristen. “Why would she take off?” He wondered aloud. “She’s totally freaked out over you catching her with Trey last night. She’s knows you’re mad at her and I think she ran off to avoid facing you. She was already freaked out enough about being pregnant.” Jamie answered as she poured a cup of coffee. “What?” Josh demanded. “She thinks she might be pregnant with your brother’s baby. I took her to the clinic yesterday morning to have a pregnancy test done. “She’s not pregnant. I know my brother he practices safe sex.” Josh told her. The thought of Kristen alone on the streets of L.A terrified him. “Here’s a new s flash for you. He didn’t wear a condom the pregnancy test was Trey’s idea. He had Kristen examined by a Doctor who did a blood test to determine whether or not she was pregnant.” Jamie told him her temper flaring. “Trey’s never had unprotected sex.” Josh stated in disbelief. His brother had drilled safe sex into him constantly. “I guess you don’t know him as well as you thought.” Jamie commented taking a sip of the coffee. There was a knock on the door. “That’s probably the police.” She muttered going to answer the door. Josh just stood staring off into space to stunned to move. Christ! The thought of her carrying Trey’s child shook him to his core. She must be terrified he thought his heart aching for her. He listened as Jamie gave the police a description of Kristen. Her Dad and Grandmother arrived shortly after the police. Kristen’s grandmother was in tears her hands shaking. After the police left Jamie was forced to tell them the whole truth. “How could you let this happen?” Bernice demanded her eyes filled with pain. The thought of her beloved granddaughter alone on the streets terrified her. “I don’t know everything just got out of control. I didn’t even know she was with Trey. I thought she was with Josh.” She moaned indicating Josh. “I’m sorry about the trouble my brother has caused. I can assure you that I’ll do everything I can to help you find Kristen. I’ll set up a reward for information.” He told them hoping to give them some reassurance. “Is it possible she’s with your brother?” Bernice asked hopefully. “No, he left for the ranch last night. My Dad was totally pissed off by what Trey had done. He sent Trey back to the ranch.” Josh answered. He almost wished Kristen was with his brother at least she would be safe. This nightmare was getting worse and worse. “So he just used her for sex.” Bernice said bitterly. “I’m sorry.” Josh said. This was all his fault he should have taken Kristen to Arizona with him when he left. “I’m going to go talk to my Dad, he’ll get our people out on the street to help search for her.” He told them. “Thank you, I know this must be hard on you. I don’t understand why Kristen would do something like this. It’s clear that you love her.” Bernice said gripping his hand. She was so confused by all of this. Kristen wasn’t the type of girl to jump from one man to another. She had never even had a boyfriend. “I’ll be in touch.” Josh promised squeezing her hand. He turned and headed out of the apartment. *****
